Update on Peanut Story: Factory owner pleads the Fifth multiple times when asked about plant policies, procedures and whether he and staff were aware they were contaminating food products. Sacrificing health and safety of consumers in the name of profit is so yesterday’s business practices! This incident will help consumers and business owners realize the importance of putting health and safety above profits as we move forward into a more sustainable future.

As of February 22, nine deaths and 654 illnesses in 44 states have been linked to this company’s foul peanut processing practices; more than 1,800 products have been recalled.

If you or your children are suffering from diarrhea or other flu-like symptoms,  consider whether you might be infected with sub-standard contaminated peanut products. A large corporate peanut supplier has been identified as allowing health-threatening food processing procedures to continue at their facility, causing hundreds of illnesses, some fatal, and hundreds of products to be pulled from store shelves. This situation highlights the problems faced by large-scale, profit-driven food production. Shop local.

And make sure your kids stay safe from food contamination. Check product recalls here.
