Another ECSC Recommendation is passed by the County Commission.
Thanks to Ed Brown for taking the initiative to bring this forward.
May 2009 is “Hang Out Your Laundry Month” in Alachua County, Florida!
Florida Statute 163.04 was enacted “to protect public health, safety and welfare by encouraging the development and use of renewable resources….” with specific emphasis placed on the use of clotheslines; and
The Alachua County Energy Conservation Strategies Commission recommended that the Alachua County Commission encourage solar alternatives, such as use of clotheslines; and
Alachua County residents are invited to make a commitment to air dry their laundry to protect public health and safety; to reduce energy consumption and pollution; and to keep millions of dollars in the local economy to support critical financial needs of our community.
Great job all!
[Way to go, Ed! – I look forward to GRU reports on energy reductions county-wide!]
