Good article. Sums up a lot of positive activity that gives me a glimmer of hope.

I suspect that there are many visions, hope, dreams, and utopias entangled with each person's version of the new paradigm.

The problem I have is there is no new paradigm to adopt at our fingertips - and when we find it, someone is not going to like it. At least no one has articulated clearly what this paradigm entails or means to our lifestyles. This is like trying to ignore the elephant in the room. The new model includes lower consumption, more expensive products, and less "freedom" for the less responsible individuals and corporations to intentionally externalize costs.

These effects of the new paradigm seem to me inevitable, but politically they are a very hard sell. But sellers of the new paradigm really ought to be up-front about this aspect, or it's going to come as a shock to many.

Trish:

I had no idea that you were such a keen observer of our current political scene. This is an outstanding assessment of where we are and where we need to go.
