Monsanto’s man Taylor returns to FDA in food-czar role

Ed Brown brought this story to our attention, and I share his concern about the appointment of a Monsanto exec to the FDA. This story indicates that Taylor might have some good ideas, but that he also is dedicated to protecting Big Agriculture, which has demonstrated a desire to rule our food supplies. I don’t want to eat genetically modified or radiated foods, and would much prefer to see the federal government embrace the local farm and food movement. We’ll want to keep a close eye on developments from the FDA.

Michael Taylor, a former Monsanto executive, had joined the [FDA] as “senior advisor to the commissioner.”
