From Maria Minno: The Gainesville City Commission voted today to continue to add toxic waste from the phosphate fertilizer industry to our drinking water.
As new evidence emerges of the correlation of fluoride exposure to disorders affecting teeth, bones, the brain, the thyroid gland, and lowered IQ, the popular scientific magazine, Scientific American, recently issued a report that concludes
“Scientific attitudes toward fluoridation may be starting to shift”
Dan Fagin, writing for Scientific American, reports that
“Today almost 60 percent of the U.S. population drinks fluoridated water, including residents of 46 of the nation’s 50 largest cities,” reports Scientific American’s Dan Fagin.
Fagin is an award-wining environmental reporter and Director of New York University’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting Program.
