Environmental Film and Arts Festival INFO MEETING

Posted by Trish Riley, January 8, 2010

Want to know how YOU and YOUR ORGANIZATION can be part of the inaugural Gainesville Environmental Film and Arts Festival in March, 2010?

We are excited to invite you join us  at the Hippodrome Theatre, 25 SE 2nd Place, 5 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12th. We will introduce the Festival and inform local organizations and businesses about how they can be a part of this and future festivals.  We’ll meet at 5pm for a social hour at the Hipp Bar followed by a short meeting at 6pm where we will outline the festival concept and discuss how we can come together to make this the most exciting environmental event ever to happen in Gainesville . If you are an environmentally connected business, artist or organization, mark you calendars now for this event. There are going to be several opportunities during the festival to get your message directly to the community. Our vision is to entertain and connect the community to our local resources. Don’t miss out on this opportunity. Be there now.

The Gainesville Environmental Film and Arts Festival is a collaborative effort of the Florida Defenders of the Environment, the Hippodrome State Theatre and GoGreenNation.org to raise awareness of environmental issues in our North Florida region and to inspire our community to address environmental issues through lifestyle adjustments, business and the arts. This festival is designed to engage the community through school-related programs; community conservation projects; green business education; film, music, dance, poetry, photography and visual art exhibitions; and community non-profit organization involvement.

Through this project we will draw together organizations, businesses and individuals who are working to address environmental issues and build partnerships between the arts, government, community and businesses to develop practices for sustainable living.

There are many ways for individuals, businesses and organizations to get involved:

* Participate in our environmental fair

* Help showcase area natural resources

* Display environmental artwork

* Sponsor a film and other festival activities or make a donation to support the festival

* Volunteer to help

* And Much More!
