Koppers Meetings for Concerned Citizens

Posted by Trish Riley, January 11, 2010

Protect Gainesville’s Citizens, Inc. is holding two Community Involvement meetings in January.  The purpose of these meetings is to solicit input from our community about how we would like to use the EPA’s TAG grant.  In specific the purpose of the TAG grant is to provide funds to contract with independent technical advisor’s to interpret and help the community understand technical information about their site.

We need to hear from the community about how we can best utilize this resource to help us achieve the best outcome from the cleanup of the Cabot/Superfund site.

The meetings will be held Thursday, January 14th @ 7:30pm and Thursday, January 28th @ 7:30pm.  They will be held at Wild Iris Books, 802 W University Ave., Gainesville, FL 32601.  For more information please check our website at:  protectgainesville.org or our facebook page “Protect Gainesville’s Citizens.”  We will post updates about the meeting format and agenda as we closer to the dates.

We are also looking for a couple of volunteers who can help us with data entry and building our mailing list database.  They can work at either Wild Iris Books on one of our computers or if they have internet access at home they can work at home. They can call Cheryl or Erica at 352-375-7477 to volunteer or get more information.
