In a plugged in world, often we find ourselves really disconnected from each other. This is truly apparent in the teens of today. Between Facebook, iPhones, texting, Twitter and more, our teens appear to be on top of it all, but are really less connected to the world than ever. In fact, according to the Kaiser Foundation, the average young person spends about eight hours per day plugged into some sort of electronic media.
To spread the word and let more teens and parents know about this trend, Adventures Cross-Country has just announced a trip giveaway contest to Costa Rica. The winner will be a part of a group of students going to Costa Rica for their service adventure this summer. From learning Spanish, working on a construction project, to jungle rafting and delivering school supplies to a remote location, this service adventure is a life-changing trip. Details of the contest include:
- Entries will be taken until April 9th
- Winner will be announced April 22nd
- Winner will join Costa Rica service adventure trip group scheduled for summer of 2010
- Entry for and further details can be found at www.adventurescrosscountry.com/wincostarica
Teen adventures centered around service and leadership are an untapped resource for both parents and teens. If you can publicize via your web site, that would be great for us and help to spread the word about the contest to families and teens.
