Environmental Film Festival Needs You!

Posted by Trish Riley, May 26, 2010

We were thrilled with the response and excitement generated by the 2010 festival and we are beginning to plan on next year’s festival. Our 2011 festival will continue to bring informative and inspiring environmental films to Gainesville and we look forward to expanding our reach to the community at large, helping to broaden environmental awareness and engaging more of our community in next year’s fun.

We are so appreciative of all of you who supported us with your sweat, tears and funds… and we need you again.

We are looking for a few interested people with some time to dedicate to growing, promoting and supporting the next festival.  We have enough time this year to really establish a financial basis for this year and the years to come. We’ve listed several areas that we need help with below – please let us know if you would like to help:

Legal Assistance
We need to create a 501 (c)3 organization for the Festival, and we need help getting this done. If you’ve got the skills and the time, please let us know!
Development/Fundraising
We are looking for someone with the ability and desire to raise funds for the festival. This person will research and identify funding sources and solicit sponsorship support from local, regional and national businesses, individuals and corporations.

School/Community Outreach
This is an area we’d really like to develop this year. We’d like to engage local groups by involving them in local environment-related projects, festival activities and film screenings. We are seeking an individual who can identify and work with the local schools, churches and community groups to help engage them in the festival and local projects.

Administrative Assistance
We are looking for a detail oriented, computer savvy person to help with the coordination of the festival office functions.

Grants Researcher/Writer
Working with staff researching and writing grants: This job needs to be tackled immediately!

Marketing
We are looking for assistance  both traditional marketing – ads, print media, broadcast media as well as social networking, blogging and video.

Thank you so much for your interest in and support of the festival. Please let us know asap if you’d like to help fulfill any of these volunteer positions.

Sincerely,

Trish (954-384-9466) and Shirley (352-215-9918)
