Thousands fill the cavernous halls of the Orange County Convention Center this weekend, gathering piles of info on everything from sustainable travel with Peter Greenberg to sustainable health with Dean Ornish. Mary Matalin and James Carville talk politics and love today and Pepper Schwartz will give the low down on love Saturday.

An ongoing stream of advance screenings provide a wealth of high-quality entertainment, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young will close out the festival Sat. Night. There’s something for everyone at a bargain of $25! check it out!

What: More than 25,000 people from all over the country will gather in Orlando this fall for AARP’s national event, Orlando@50+. This three-day experience brings all that is AARP to life with celebrities and experts speaking on various topics ranging from health & fitness to relationships and social networking, to financial planning and healthcare; nightly concerts and entertainment featuring a dance party exclusively for those age 50+, Crosby, Stills & Nash, B.B. King, Gladys Knight, Gloria Gaynor and more; and an expo floor featuring over 350 products and services geared to the 50+ audience. Additional participants include Whoopi Goldberg, Larry King, “dog whisperer” Cesar Millan, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, Jane Pauley and many more. Plus: AARP’s Movies for Grownups Film Festival will host exclusive screenings of various films, some that have yet to hit movie theaters, including Flipped, directed by Rob Reiner who will be on hand to meet and greet attendees.

– Career Center: will offer counseling; social networking training; image consulting and more for those unemployed and looking to get back in the job search market.
– Movies for Grownups film festival: we’ll be screening a variety of films, some which haven’t even been shown in theaters yet!- and Rob Reiner and Linda Grey will be on hand to do Q&As with the audience and press as well.

– Books for Grownups festival: on site book expo for reading that appeals to the older audience + book signings by authors

– AARP Meet & Greet/Social/Speed Dating: to kick off the event, we’re starting the party early on 9/29 with an optional event at Universal studios where folks will gather to check out the new Harry Potter park and then end the day with a 3 hour social event at the CityWalk restaurants and bars, which includes dinner, dancing and a speed dating event! Then on 10/1, there will be a dance party exclusively for those age 50+ at the convention center which makes for a great-tie in to a dating story.
