On Monday, November 29 at 4:30 pm the City of Cupertino began implementation of its Energy Service Agreement Project. Paid for in part by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds, this project replaces all city-owned streetlights and irrigation controllers with state-of-the-art technologies that significantly reduce electricity and water consumption.

“Cupertino residents need not rub their eyes when they glance upward at the streetlights outside their front doors over the next few months. The ghostly new glow emanating from their neighborhood streetlights is the result of an ambitious project that will retrofit 2,950 city-owned streetlights with new energy-efficient technology,” writes Matt Wilson, http://www.mercurynews.com/cupertino/ci_16821662?nclick_check=1.
