Soup fundraiser for Elephant Seals

The Friends of the Elephant Seal, http://www.elephantseal.org/, a nonprofit organization that provides education and advocacy for Northern Elephant Seals at Piedras Blancas, California is entirely funded by donations and grants. It holds one major fundraising event annually. In 2011, it will be

A GRAND OLE’ SOUP-ABRATION:  A Jubilee of Central Coast Restaurants Competing for the Best Soups Around

September 10, 2011, Noon – 5 p.m. at the Cayucos Creek Barn, Cayucos

Ticket prices are set at $40 per person, wine tasting extra. Local celebrity judges will taste and judge the soups. Local wineries will pour their best.

 Country music will play the tune, as participants enjoy playing games and winning raffle prizes when they aren’t eating and drinking. Children are welcome at this family-friendly event. Taking note of the problems of ocean pollution, the day will be managed as a Zero-Waste event.
