EPA releases final cleanup plan for Koppers

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released its final cleanup plan for the Cabot-Koppers Superfund site late Wednesday afternoon, sending city and county officials and concerned citizens scrambling to decipher the 703-page document.

Alachua County officials said Wednesday evening they were just starting to review the plan, referred to by the EPA as the Record of Decision, and couldn’t offer much insight.

It seemed, though, to include many of the basic aspects of the agency’s preliminary cleanup proposal, released in July.
