Crops can reduce GHG

The American Society of Agronomy, the Crop Science Society of America and the Soil Science Society of America issued a joint Position Statement on Climate Change. It’s carefully worded, but includes recommendations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, such as increasing genetic diversity in the landscape, develop and evaluate locally-based adaptive
management and mitigation strategies to enhance the resilience of cropping and rangeland/pasture production systems, actively conserve genetic resources to safeguard these assets for use in the future development of improved varieties, reduce tillage, incorporating perennial crops into crop rotations, and more.
