Green Drinks July 6!

Posted by Trish Riley, July 4, 2011

Hello, Green Drinkers of Gainesville!

I hope your summer is advancing peacefully and sustainably… I’ve heard from many of you that you’re looking forward to our next meeting at the home of Deb and Tim Harrell, who would like to share their interesting Tower Gardens with us. Having our little sustainability soiree at a private home is a new venture for us, and I’m sure it will be a fun diversion. I hope you’ve kept the date on your calendar:

July 6, 6-8 p.m. Deb and Tim Harrell’s: 6728 NW 34th Way (Sutter’s Landing).

Directions: Turn into Mile Run subdivision off of NW 53rd. Go to the back & turn right into Sutter’s Landing. We are the 3rd street on the left, and 3rd house on the left. It’s a small cul-de-sac so if people could park outside the neighborhood and perhaps carpool in, parking will be more manageable. There’s plenty of parking outside Sutter’s Landing as that is a dead end.

In addition to learning about the Harrell’s Tower Garden, we will also announce the details of our Summer Environmental Film Series, beginning in July. I’ve also been asked to share some information about the upcoming ISIS courses at the UF TREEO Center – pick up a brochure and if you decide to attend, I’ve been told that those at our meeting will be eligible for a 50 percent discount. Let me know if you have sustainable news or announcements you’d like to share, too.

BTW, I’ll bring the red glasses found at our May meeting at TagWa…. Hope they’re yours!

I hope you have all enjoyed Green Drinks as we celebrate to our 2.5 year anniversary here in Gainesville. I have heard from many of you who have made valuable connections by coming to toast sustainability with us at so many interesting green businesses around town. I’d like to invite you to become a sponsor of Green Drinks Gainesville to help keep our momentum rolling. Sustainable restaurants/bars/clubs who would like to host may sponsor or if you would like to take the floor and tell our members about your sustainable business, organization or upcoming event, we’d love to hear about it – let us know if you’re interested in a hosting sponsorship or an informational sponsorship – I will be happy to share details with you and get you on our agenda! We have rates for hosts, corporate and non-profit sponsors, and all include an ad on www.GoGreenNation.org as well as a mention in our email, which goes out to more than 1000 supporters and more than 100 media outlets who help to advertise our meetings. Please give me a call to help promote our efforts to make Gainesville Florida’s Emerald City!

Thank you,

Trish Riley
