Just a few things today.
1. In politics, as in comedy, timing is everything.
This week, the 1000 Friends of Florida announced it was giving Alachua County its coveted Better Community Award for the county’s commitment to “multi-modal transportation and sustainable patterns of development.”
Multi-modal being planner-speak for getting people here and there by bus, bike, car and shoe leather.
“Alachua County is taking important steps to provide a wider range of transportation options for its residents,” said 1000 Friends President and CEO Charles Pattison.
This, following the county’s adoption of land-use regulations that encourage development tied to bus rapid transit.
