The main event of the Great American Cleanup is on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Westside Park. You can register in front of the Westside Park Recreation Center beginning at 8 a.m. or sign up in advance at SIGNUP. The park is located at 1001 NW 34th Street. Either way, we hope you will join us for the Thank You Party at the recreation center with free food, entertainment and prizes that begins at noon.
Can’t make it on April 6? Sign up and choose another date that is convenient for you.
To sign up, please click on SIGNUP. The first 1,000 volunteers will receive a reusable shopping bag.
Projects include: litter cleanups; site beautification; school and community playground/park cleanup; roadway cleanup and beautification; recycling education; river cleanups; and graffiti removal. We can offer a project or you can suggest one yourself.
Bring gloves, sunscreen, insect repellant, sunglasses, a water bottle and wear close-toed shoes on the day of your cleanup.
We provide trash bags, rakes, shovels, paint and painting equipment, safety vests and gloves. First aid kits are available also on a limited basis.
If you decide to go swimming, there is a fee for using the Westside Park pool and proper bathing attire is required.
Thanks again for your continued support. YOU make a difference in Alachua County!
