The Alachua County Cooperative Extension Office is hosting a workshop on how to can and preserve your own foods from home. The workshop will be held at the office, located at 2800 NE 39 Ave. Workshops will be offered at 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and again at 6:00-9:00 p.m. You will learn the basics on canning foods using a steam pressure canner or boiling-water canner. Participants will also learn how to make a variety of foods including jams, jellies, and pickles. Although the workshop is free of charge, you must register THREE days prior to the workshop.
