Talk Summary: Do you want to know how University Presidents are showing leadership in an era of Climate Change? On Tuesday, October 14, join Professor Stephen Mulkey as he shares his experiences leading Unity College to become the first institute of higher education in the country to divest from fossil fuels, as well as integrate climate change education across its entire curriculum. In his talk, Professor Mulkey will also explore the contributions of academics to social innovation: not just as analysts, but as agents of change. Stephen Mulkey holds a Ph.D. in Biology and Ecology from the University of Pennsylvania. His research includes ecosystems spanning the globe and program development relevant to climate change. This event is part of the UF Center for Adaptive Innovation, Resilience, and Ethics (UF-CAIRE) 2014-2015 Speaker Series: “Social Change and the Ivory Tower”. The event is co-sponsored by the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Political Science.
