Help Keep Alachua County Beautiful

Posted by Talyn Brown-Wolf, February 8, 2017

Keep Alachua County Beautiful needs volunteers for the Great American Cleanup. Together with our fellow Keep America Beautiful Affiliates in other cities and states, we will engage community volunteers in a half day of picking up litter, renewing parks, planting trees and flowers, beautifying neighborhoods, and removing debris from waterways. Your organization can make a big difference in our community and we hope you will participate.

Our main event this year is scheduled for Saturday, March 4, from 8 a.m. until noon at Albert “Ray” Massey (“Westside”) Park in Gainesville. We anticipate hundreds of volunteers coming out as they have in years past, and we invite you to join us. March 4th is the first day of Spring Break and we realize this date may not work for everyone.  If you are not available on this date, please choose another date that is convenient for you.

Please register at: kacb.org/event-registration. All tools and supplies will be provided.

The main cleanup event will start at 8 a.m. and thank you party to honor participants will start at noon. The party will include food, prizes and entertainment.

This year’s Great American Cleanup theme –“CLEAN YOUR BLOCK PARTY” – encourages and empowers all volunteers and participants to take what they learn from experiencing a public space Great American Cleanup event and bring it home to organize an event on their own block. Get the tools to launch a cleanup event in your community and participate online using #cleanYOURblock.
