Welcome, Susan! Food is a hot topic with our group, so I hope some of our members chime in to offer ideas and resources for your efforts to dine sustainably...reducing your meat consumption can make a great difference in the emissions produced through meat production. Rosas Farms near Ocala raises organic beef, boar and chickens, and Cognito Farms is also a local meat producer. I'm sure there are more for you...
best,

Hi all,

My story is not like a lot of the ones I have seen where folks have been 'green' since before they came out of the womb....;-) I have steadily been building my knowledge and involvement in becoming a better citizen by being more conscious of how my actions affect the environment and doing something about it. That said, I am particularly interested in the world of food...the natural food business from natural/organic produce to specialty products....

Unlike many of my 'green' cohorts, I am a meat eater. Still, I am doing everything I can to educate myself on the reality of natural and organic meat and how I can feel better about eating it. That includes understanding the truth about beef and if there are ranches and companies out there who are doing it 'right'.

It will be great to learn from all of you and hopefully I make a few nice friends by being a part of this great community.

Susan
