Hello, Gainesville Greenies!
Our group has spawned an exciting event - the first-ever Gainesville Environmental Film and Arts Festival! At our Green Drinks meeting in August, Shirley Lasseter, Cinema Director of the Hippodrome Theatre, and Nick Williams, Executive Director of Florida Defenders of the Environment, and I met and hatched a plan to create an environmental film festival to bring the wealth of enviro news to our town... and beyond. We have been working ceaselessly ever since to make this a reality, and we need your help!
The Festival is scheduled for March 19 - 28 and will include five major environmental films, arts presentations, nature outings and an environmental fair where your organization or business can display your projects and talk with attendees who'd like to get involved.
This is a great chance to let our community know more about the environmental challenges facing our world, and how we can all help to create a more sustainable future.
Join us at our first informational meeting Jan. 12, 5-7 at the Hipp:http://www.gogreennation.org/2010/01/environmental-film-and-arts-festival-info-meeting/
Plan to attend our Green Drinks Film Festival Fundraiser, sponsored by Alachua Conservation trust Feb. 3, and bring your friends: http://www.gogreennation.org/2010/01/green-drinks-f…ndraiser-feb-3/
Let us know how your organization or business can help make this festival a success!
Thanks,
